Elle Lizbeth Daley
Elle Lizbeth Daley graduated from Loras College in 2015, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Public Relations. As a Social Work and Public Relations major, Elle volunteered with AmeriCorps and was placed with the non-profit organization Circles as the Child Care Coordinator for the grassroots movement in the City of Dubuque. Elle’s desire and devotion to helping others originated from her experiences as an AmeriCorps member. As an AmeriCorps member, Elle worked primarily with the youth and empowered them to engage in the community and give back.
Elle went on to obtain her law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2019 where she graduated Cum Laude and was on the Dean’s list all three years. While in law school, Elle devoted much of her time to the Public Interest Law Society and worked at the Civil Justice Clinic in Rockford, Illinois. While in law school, Elle had the opportunity to work as a 711 at the Civil Justice Clinic. As a 711 licensed student, Elle was able to practice law and represent clients under the supervision of a practicing attorney. At the Civil Justice Clinic, Elle assisted low-income senior citizens and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Elle also drafted estate planning documents and represented clients in civil matters involving orders of protection and domestic violence.
While attending law school, Elle also worked for Daley Financial Partners, a financial and retirement planning firm located in Oak Brook, Illinois which specializes in working with business owners, educators, and women. While working there, Elle assisted the firm transition from one broker dealer to another. Elle answered client inquiries, assisted in creating new accounts, and transferring assets. Elle’s experience from working in a financial and retirement planning firm has provided her with a wealth of knowledge in the area of retirement assets, including the legal issues presented and tax implications involved in the division of retirement assets.
In 2019, Elle became licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and in 2020 she was admitted to practice law in the Northern District of Illinois. Since 2019, she has focused her practice on matters of family law and providing each of her clients with an individualized approach given their specific circumstances, goals, and needs. Elle has served a variety of clients in divorce and family law matters.
Elle has experience in drafting and executing Marital Settlement Agreements for clients whom she was able to negotiate on behalf of and reach amicable settlements. Elle also has experience assisting clients in post-decree matters involving the enforcement and modification of Marital Settlement Agreements. Elle has also handled the division of retirement assets by way Qualified Domestic Relations Orders and Qualified Illinois Domestic Relations Orders.
Elle is also experienced in family law matters involving complex financial issues including but not limited to business valuations, inheritance disputes, and trust property in the division of the martial estate. Elle has also represented clients who held an interest in a variety of partnerships with varying interests.
Elle has also assisted clients dealing with the issues of child support, allocation of parental responsibility (formerly known as child custody), allocation of parenting time (formerly known as visitation), domestic violence, and spousal support.
Prior to joining Kollias, P.C., Elle worked at a midsize law firm in Rockford, Illinois where she gained invaluable experience as a family law attorney. Elle represented numerous clients in the modification of their child support obligation when circumstances arose that necessitated a modification. Specifically, Elle has handled modifications when a parent’s financial circumstances had changed since their previous child support order was entered.
Elle has helped her clients establish parenting time schedule (visitation) that was in the best interest of the minor children. She also assisted clients in altering parenting time schedules when the old ones were unworkable or no longer in the best interests of the family. Elle has successfully negotiated and advocated for her clients to increase parenting time when circumstances warranted a modification. Additionally, Elle has experience in family law cases that involved the assistance of a guardian ad litem where the parenting time issues were contested.
Elle is an active member of Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), Winnebago County Bar Association (WCBA), and the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA). In 2020, Elle was nominated to be the Secretary of the Winnebago County Bar Association and is currently serving a one-year term.
